As well as the Japan Day, France Festival, Gourmet Festival and the Rhine Fun Fair the China Festival became an important event once a year in Düsseldorf. For the eight time the China Festival is going to impress with dancing dragons, colourful costumes, performances and traditional food this year. People can try the typical Chinese food like Dumplings and Dim Sum and various other traditional dishes. Traditional Chinese music, singing, dance and athletic performances are only some of the entertainment you can see there. It usually attracts around 30,000 visitors to join the fun at Town Hall Market Square in Düsseldorf’s old town. Not only Chinese and German visitors come from all over the region but also other nationalities contribute to the cosmopolitan international festival. The Asian culture is an important part of Düsseldorf as there is an increasing Asian community. A bit tucked away from the city centre close to the central station you can actually find a little Chinatown with Chinese supermarkets offering the typical Asian products. There are also some authentic Chinese restaurants serving typical meals how you would find it in China. You can see many Chinese people eating there which is always a sign for good quality and authentic food.
